Stars upon Thars

For my Laurel Ceremony I asked my good friend, Master Michael Alewright, to herald me into court. When he asked me what I would like him to say, I asked him to be inspired by the Star-Bellied Sneetches from Dr. Seuss.

Here are his words:

And now comes a lady both skillful and keen.

I speak out for Euriol, late of Lothien:

A heart born of Venus, a gaze fit for Mars,

And joyful the diners who feast 'neath her stars.

Your Majesties, hail! Her knowledge inspires,

And now here before you to suit your desires,

She waits for your pleasure. Say what is your wish,

Be it effort of labor, or tastiest dish.

Let none dare defame such a lady of skill,

Or be served up with relish, or pickled with dill,

Or their bones boiled to soup for the lapse in their morals,

Or be given a fruitcake... the bane of new Laurels!
